Introduction to Inventor Solid Modeling online
Description
The Introduction to Inventor Solid Modeling live online training provides you with an understanding of parametric design philosophy through a hands-on, practice-intensive curriculum. You will learn the key skills and knowledge required to design models using Inventor, starting with conceptual sketching, through to solid modeling, assembly design, and drawing production.
Topics covered include:
- The Inventor software interface
- Creating, constraining, and dimensioning 2D sketches
- Creating and editing the solid base 3D feature from a sketch
- Creating and editing secondary solid features that are sketched and placed
- Creating equations and working with parameters
- Manipulating the display of the model
- Resolving feature failures
- Duplicating geometry in the model
- Placing and constraining/connecting parts in assemblies
- Manipulating the display of components in an assembly
- Obtaining model measurements and property information
- Creating Presentation files (exploded views)
- Modifying and analysing the components in an assembly
- Simulating motion in an assembly
- Creating parts and features in assemblies
- Creating and editing an assembly Bill of Materials (BOMs)
- Working with projects
- Creating and annotating drawings and views
- Customising the Autodesk Inventor environment
Prerequisites
No prior 3D modelling experience is required, but an understanding of engineering terminology is useful. Experience with the Windows operating system is also needed.
Online attendees will need to:
- Download and install the latest version of TeamViewer: https://download.teamviewer.com/download/TeamViewer_Setup_x64.exe
- Download and install the Microsoft Teams application rather than joining through the weblink for improved reliability.
- Have two screens set up (one screen for software, one screen for exercise steps)
- Have the 2024 version of the software installed and running
- Have a headset and mic (mic is optional as you can use the text window to communicate)
Courseware
An Ascent course manual is included in the course cost and is valid for 12 months once activated.
Certification
Once a course evaluation is completed by attendees, an Autodesk certificate of completion is issued. You must complete the evaluation within thirty days of the course to receive the certification.
