Coordination in Revit online
Description
In this live online training, you will learn the core and essential coordination tools in Autodesk Revit. Through a series of exercises, our instructors will show you how to correctly prepare DWG files for Revit, link RVT and DWG files, and setup coordinates.
Topics covered include:
- The recommended file structure for setting up projects in Revit
- An introduction to the BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
- The differences between Revit and AutoCAD with coordinates
- Project north and true north
- The project base point, survey point and internal origin
- How to prepare a DWG file before linking into Revit and issues that can arise without proper preparation
- Introduction to worksets
- Understand the differences between importing and linking
- Linking a DWG and RVT file into Revit
- How to apply coordinates to a Revit project
- How to apply coordinates to and from other Revit files
- How to export DWG’s with coordinates from Revit
Prerequisites
Attendees should have experience and knowledge of the fundamentals of Autodesk Revit software.
Online attendees will need to:
- Download and install the latest version of TeamViewer: https://download.teamviewer.com/download/TeamViewer_Setup_x64.exe
- Download and install the Microsoft Teams application rather than joining through the weblink for improved reliability.
- Have two screens set up (one screen for software, one screen for exercise steps)
- Have the 2024 version of the software installed and running
- Have a headset and mic (mic is optional as you can use the text window to communicate)

Certification
Once a course evaluation is completed by attendees, an Autodesk certificate of completion is issued. You must complete the evaluation within thirty days of the course to receive the certification.
